Founded by former CISOs, security managers, and operators, our mission is simple: To help our clients get “left of boom”.

CynomIQ was founded by leaders and operators from the US Intelligence Community and commercial CISOs. They recognized the need to shift from a “detect and respond” mindset towards a greater focus on preventative security by better leveraging existing tools and data, advanced analytics, and automation to improve overall cybersecurity posture management.

They recognized that the challenge with preventative security was how to better prioritize a tsunami of vulnerabilities, understand attack vectors and the adversaries tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), get better visibility into the security controls, and manage the attack surface area through more accurate and complete asset inventories.

We believed a better way existed – a way to get better visibility, make better decisions, and take action faster with fewer resources. So we set out to build it.

That’s when CynomIQ was born.

“Left of boom” definition:

The preventative measures, intelligence gathering, and proactive strategies aimed at identifying and neutralizing threats before they can materialize into an actual incident.

“We ensure we’re delivering real, impactful outcomes.”

“We are helping to redefine how cybersecurity protects our clients’ digital systems. By focusing on tailored solutions that seamlessly combine advanced technology with expert services, we ensure we’re delivering real, impactful outcomes – not just billable hours or generic, ‘one size fits all’ products.”

Our Solution Philosophy

We built CynomIQ so you can get more from the investment you've made in your existing tools.

We believe companies spend far too much money on detect, respond, and recover but not nearly enough on prevent. And we’ve seen first-hand that there simply aren’t enough hours in a day to have your team whack-a-mole every single problem as it pops up. We believe the next era of cybersecurity posture management is about choosing the right battles and fighting them resourcefully. And that requires more than wisdom and instincts… it requires complete context, data-backed decisions, and unified action.

That’s why we built CynomIQ.

Because we’re all tired of one-dimensional fixes to our multi-dimensional problems.

Because with threats, regulatory mandates, budget pressure, and organizational complexity weighing you down, you need a solution that makes shifting left practical and realistic.

Because with so much complexity already at play, the last thing you need is another tool that demands skilled operators and extensive training just to extract any meaningful value.

Our Experience

Our collective experience spans the offensive side and the defensive side – the public sector and the private sector.

With our founding team’s backgrounds, we know a thing or two about what it takes to get “left of boom” to protect high stake assets – whether those assets are your corporate crown jewels or a matter of national security.
